fabric therapy

I've been indulging these last few days and sewing up a storm. Locking myself away in my studio with a glass of wine (or two) and some creative ideas seems to be the way to soothe my tired, frustrated self. And so, the results:

This afternoon I crafted a table runner out of some old blocks from a quilt I've got kicking around in my room. Nothing else to do with scraps but use them up. It was also a chance to figure out what sort of calibre of quilting my new sewing machine can kick out, since it's never been used for that purpose until today.

I have no idea what I'm going to use it for - probably relegated to the 'christmas gift/emergency gift' pile.

On Wednesday, I started pattening out a messenger bag that's a bit nicer than my standard MEC-industrial edition (not that I don't love that one, but sometimes a girl needs to break out of the nylon and into some pink. It turned out ok - though I need to get a better stabilizer, and the next version will be out of quilted corduruoy.
