there are things that you learn about yourself while apartment hunting.
like your ability to smile cheerily through even the most abysmal of showings (do not make me describe these to you) and tell them "you'll let them know".
like being able to spot potential from a mile away. also, slumlords.
like the importance of including GOOD PHOTOS In your listings (landlords: let this be your lesson).
like the annoyance of the appointment that never happens.
like having to speak terrible french at a showing and BEING UNDERSTOOD.
but most importantly, the most important lesson you learn after years of hunting in different cities for different places is how to tell when you've just walked into the place you're about to call home. Like this one!
Thank god we found an apartment after only four weeks of looking. And it's a great one!
